Because the eyes are always moving, including during the rapid-eye-movement(REM) stage of sleeping, it is near impossible to keep them from moving around wholly – because the yes must stay lubricated at all times.

However, through techniques such as palming, it is possible to reduce the amount of eye movement, allow the eyes to rest more often, and improve vision naturally.

It is not probable to relax your eyes without 1st calming the brain down. Because you may always have countless thoughts racing through your head, the eyes have a natural tendency to strain. Palming helps to calm down the eyes and the brain at once.

Palming only takes about 15 minutes, is very plain, and can be done for as long as you sense the need to.
Here are the basic steps in using palming to improve vision:

1. Rub hands together so they get quite warm. Place a palm over each eye, making sure to keep the palms in a cupped form, so they do not touch or apply strain to your eyes. While doing this make sure your elbows are resting on a desktop or on your legs.

2. Allow yourself to entirely relax. While you have your eyes closed under the palms, take notice to the feeling of your body muscles starting to relax. Imagine your muscles starting to relax slowly, from head to toe. As you wholly relax, the darker the blackness you will see with your palmed eyes. Once you get to the body relaxed, you will get the darkest blackness possible.

3. Make sure you clear your mind of all racing thoughts. Focus only on the darkness. If you need help not thinking about these racing thoughts, think of something serene – the beach, a meadow, etc. While in your most relaxed state, try to stay in it as long as you want – but for at least 15 minutes.

4. After your 15 minutes are up, when you open your eyes, you will notice that the whole lot is much more in focus. Your vision will be clearer, and other aspects of your vision will seem more clear-cut.
